...is a real thing apparently.
We've been hit with about 18 inches of snow (so far) so it's been an adventure (and by adventure I mean nightmare). I had to go to work today (for 3 hours...) so it was fun having the streets alllll to myself. But then I got to come home and nap. After said napping, Chris and I went out to explore. We hiked around in the snow for about 4 miles. Kind of dumb since trees were literally being pulled out of the ground from the heavy weight of the snow, but also kind of awesome.

Wow, I can't believe how hard you guys got hit!!!! My sister was supposed to go home tomorrow and well, now she's not LOL Stay safe! And your gloves ARE cute :)
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! You are brave to go 4 miles in the snow. I was outside for about 10 minutes and thought I was going to freeze!
ReplyDeleteI didn't realize there was so much snow hitting the Midwest until... right now. Yikes! Stay safe & warm.
ReplyDeleteI know people in the Midwest aren't usually crazy about tons of snow, but I always get super jealous when I hear about parts of the country getting feet of snow! The most we get here in Oregon is half an inch a few times a year. (Except for four years ago, when we got a foot and a half of snow, and the whole city shut down for a week. It was kind of awesome.)
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh! Stay safe! Only wind and rain for us in Ohio right now, but I hear it should change into snow overnight.

Oh my lord - amazing! Stay safe - it's very cold but dry as a bone here in CA. Jealous of all these gorgeous snowy pics! x
ReplyDeletei can't believe you had to go to work in that holy hell of a mess. yikes. but your pictures sure are beautiful so i'm glad you made it back safely! i love big snowstorms if you are safe at home and can enjoy it. now... get working to clear 39/90, wisconsin, so i can head south soon! ;)
ReplyDeleteThat's what it looked like around here a couple weeks ago :) my favorite is all the frost on the trees - it makes everything look so pristine and magical for some reason. And yes, your gloves are totally cute! Totally worth a photo of ;)
ReplyDeleteWOW! That is a lot of snow! I grew on the east coast so I'm used to the snow thing but I'm really glad to not have to deal with it in CA now! And your gloves are super cute!

Man that is A LOT of snow!!! Hopefully the storm passes quickly and you guys don't have to deal with for Christmas:)! If you want, you can bottle up some of that snow storm and send it to Miami and us Miamians would greatly appreciate it;)!!!! Love the gloves and how pretty your background is. Stay safe and warm:)!

I'll send you some snow if you send us some sunshine! ;)
DeleteYes your gloves are cute! I'm not good with US geography so will have to look up where you are but I cannot even imagine the chaos this would cause in (the south of) England. We don't deal with snow well here as we get it so rarely. I sat in my car for 5 hours on December 23rd 2010 trying to go just 5 miles from my office to my parents house (no hope of getting home as they shut our town down, no one could get in or out as the roads were blocked!). I like the idea of getting out and about on foot in heavy snow though, hope you had fun and are safe and warm now!
ReplyDeleteThe snow is SO beautiful!! Be safe! Love the gloves too, guys just don't understand!

WOW, that last picture is beautiful but, the flip side to all that snow can be a little scary. YES, they are cute, how can you go wrong with hearts and reindeer!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, that's crazy! We barely got a dusting here and my commute was interrupted by a seven-car crash. Yeah, Ohioans are stupid. Stay safe! (And maybe fill up a bathtub full of water to flush the toilet with, in case you lose power. I remember my parents doing that when I was a kid, haha)
ReplyDeleteI just found out 2 weeks ago why people fill their bathtubs with water. I always wandered who was drinking water out of bathtubs! ;)
DeleteAwesome pictures! And OMG I love your gloves :)

those gloves ARE cute! love them!
ReplyDeleteWOW - I can't believe how much snow you guys got! We ended up with none, so crazy! And hahahaha about the gloves (but yes, they are adorable - why didn't you bring me a pair from Germany???). These pictures are fantastic too, I'm enjoying the snow vicariously, even though I would be miserable if it looked like that here.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! That is a CRAZY amount of snow! Being someone who has lived in the south most of my life, more than a few inches seems like s blizzard! :)

"Take a picture of my gloves!"
ReplyDelete"Why?"
"Because they're cute!"
"You are so weird"
But they are cute, right?
OMG I LOVE THIS!!! So me and my Jason! And honey Indy just got a 1.3" of snow and I am so freaking excited!!! I mean what is December with no snow!
And yes those gloves are SWEET!

Beautiful snow and lovely gloves :)
ReplyDeleteHahah your conversation reminds me of the ones I have with my guy. Cute outfit - can't believe you got so much more snow than us here in Illinois. It is about time though sort of, don't you think? But still, it's so pretty it is worth the nightmarish driving- wouldn't you agree?
ReplyDeleteI do! After 10 years of driving in this kind of weather, it doesn't even make much of a difference to me!
DeleteYour gloves are indeed very cute!!! I wish we would have snow like this here in Munich... Where in Germany have you been (just wondering as you wrote you purchased the jacket in germany)? Are you planning to come again? I might plan a little week in new york in february, but not sure so far... A friend is doing an internship there, so I might use this occasion as an excuse to go there ;-) And I wish you a wonderful christmas - I will be at my parents tomorrow, and they don't have any internet, and I'm even leaving my laptop here, sometimes I just love 3 or 4 days without internet, with a lot of time for reading and great tea-time-talking with my mum! And I hope to be back with some new posts next week, it just was a very busy time for my in december... I really admire you that you take photos before work and even in thunderstorms, I wish I would be more like that ;-)

Hi Anita!
DeleteI was in Goettingen, Stade and Kiel the last time I was in Germany. My whole extended family still lives over there so I got back every few years to visit! And yes, you should come over - traveling is the best when you have some place to stay and someone to show you around! I hope you had a great Christmas break away from your computer and are charging up for the new year now :)
Yes, they ARE cute! Haha. I'm impressed that you ventured out. We stayed in to watch movies and eat candy. ;-)
ReplyDeleteSo, you are one daredevil! I love the gloves, they are very cute indeed haha ^^ Kenneth always tells me I am weird too when I ask him to take a picture of my earrings or bag :) x
ReplyDeleteI'm so jealous. We have barely had any snow in Chicago! - J
